Several members of the VIEWS Team contributed to the panel “AI on Conflict and Early Warning” at the PRIO AI Days on 25 October 2023.
The panel discussed opportunities and challenges brought about by language-learning models that are used for conflict early-warning systems. It reviewed state-of-the-art methods to extract information on political events from large text corpora, such as vast collections of news sources or parliamentary debates, using various artificial intelligence technologies designed to analyze text data.
