Vancouver, Canada – Post-Doctoral Researcher David Randahl (Uppsala University) presented recent work at the 2025 Annual Meeting of the American Political Science Association (APSA) held in Vancouver, Canada, from September 11–14.
Randahl presented the paper “Forecasting Regime Breakdowns”, co-authored with Vilde Lunnan Djuve and Carl-Henrik Knutsen from the Department of Political Science at the University of Oslo. The presentation was part of a panel on “Revolutions“, contributing to this year’s conference theme:
“Reimagining Politics, Power, and Peoplehood in Crisis Times.”
The study introduces a model designed to forecast political regime breakdowns using historical data and machine learning approaches.
