The data we collect, why we collect it, and how long we store it

We do not collect any personal data by default on this website. If you have an account on this website, choose to leave a comment, or upload media to the website, we will however collect data related to this activity.

User accounts

If you set up, or is provided with, a user account for this website, we will collect the personal data that is provided by you in your user profile, such as your name, username, and email address. We will also store your IP address. This information is stored until it is updated, or the account is deleted.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. They can also help you delete your account, should you need any assistance.


If you leave a comment on our site, we will collect the data shown in the comments form as well as your IP address and browser user agent string in order to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may also be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
