Washington, D.C., USA – Paola Vesco, Deputy Director of VIEWS, presented at the Humanitarian Frontiers convening on March 5-6, 2025, in Washington, D.C. Hosted by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Humanitarian Health, the event gathered experts to explore how data-driven insights can enhance crisis preparedness and response at the intersection of climate, health, conflict, and displacement.


As part of the Climate Change and Conflict session, Vesco introduced VIEWS’ advanced conflict prediction model, which provides global and sub-national forecasts up to three years ahead. She emphasized the power of machine learning and multi-source data analysis in equipping humanitarian actors with actionable insights for anticipatory response. Her presentation also contributed to discussions on armed conflict impacts, including its links to food insecurity, migration, and public health risks.
The convening underscored the importance of bridging research with policy solutions, reinforcing VIEWS’ role in leveraging predictive analytics for proactive humanitarian action.
