Registration for the Data for Peace 2026 Conference will open on May 4, inviting practitioners, policymakers, and researchers to engage with the latest advances in data-driven conflict prevention and peacebuilding.
As global risks and violence continue to rise, early warning systems and anticipatory approaches remain underutilized and underfunded. The conference aims to address this gap by focusing on how scientific innovation can be translated into timely, actionable decisions.
Under the theme “Bridging Scientific Innovation with Policy and Practice,” this year’s event moves beyond showcasing tools to highlight real-world applications. Discussions will center on what works, what is missing, and how data and forecasts can more effectively inform policy and operational responses.
The program has been developed in close collaboration with partners across the Data for Peace ecosystem, including UN agencies, member states, civil society, research institutions, and private sector actors.
The conference will take place in Stockholm on 15–16 June (up to 120 people), with live-streaming available, followed by a virtual day on 17 June. With the call for proposals now closed, the upcoming registration phase marks the next opportunity for broader participation.
Registration links will be published on May 4 in the conference section of the official website: https://uu.se/data-for-peace.
The 2026 conference is co-hosted by the Department of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University, the NYU Center on International Cooperation (CIC), and AI for Peace. It is supported by the Complex Risk Analytics Fund (CRAF’d) and its partners, Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA), and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
