Join us at PRIO AI Days from 15-16 October 2024!

Join members of the VIEWS team from October 15th to 16th at PRIO for the upcoming PRIO AI Days, a series of public seminars on the impact of artificial intelligence. Over the span of two days seven distinct events focused on varying aspects of AI and peace from key concepts of interpretability and explainability to the ethical dimensions within humanitarian contexts will be explored. The event will kick-off with a keynote lecture from Branka Panic, the Founder and Executive Director of AI for Peace a US-based think tank ensuring artificial intelligence benefits peace, security and sustainable development.

Angelica Lindqvist-McGowan, Operations and Outreach Manger, will be moderating AI in Early Warning and Early Action: Successes, challenges, and future pathways. While Paola Vesco, Associate Director and Senior Researcher, will be a panelist for AI in humanitarian funding: Ensuring fairness and transparency, and Simon Polichinel von der Maase, Senior Researcher, discusses Trust and transparency in AI: Aligning with stakeholder needs.

Other exciting experts in attendance include David Hammond, Director of Research at the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), Joel Myhre, DEEP Project Manager at the Danish Refugee Council, and Ashleigh Landau, Research Associate of the Early Warning Project at the Simon-Skjodt Center for the Prevention of Genocide of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
